INTRODUCTION
---
The following pages detail competitions for January to December 2007. Please feel free to copy this information for anyone who needs it but please ensure that you copy the entire document and not just individual pages. The organisers accept no responsibility for entries being late or sent to the wrong place due to lack of information being passed on. The London Region will adopt any changes to the National Competition Structure as required so updates of this document may need to be circulated at a later date.
Venues
The organisers would like to thank all clubs/centres that have hosted events in 2006 and have offered to host in 2007. We are, as always, looking for new venues and would like to hear from any willing hosts. Please talk to me if you would like to host a competition next season.
Photography
Anyone wishing to take photographs or video at a competition MUST pre-register - registration can no longer be accepted on the day. There is a photography pre-registration form included with this pack (or emailed separately) - please submit it with the competition entry form. Team managers must collect photography passes at check in on the day of the competition. Photo Application Form
Jewellery and Body Piercing
British Gymnastics believes that jewellery and adornments worn in body piercing are inappropriate for safe practice in gymnastics and trampolining. A person with body adornments or jewellery must inform the coach and also remove the relevant items to reduce the risk of injury to the participant, the coach and others. Coaches must ensure that risks associated with jewels and raised adornments on leotards are minimised. The policy applies to all participants and coaches in training and in events at home and abroad. Failure to comply with the policy will prohibit the individual's participation on the grounds of reasonable safety and may render the individual's insurance invalid should an accident result directly from non-compliance with this policy.
National Grades
Details of National Grades 1 & 2 competitions are available online at http://www.bg-coaches.org. If you are not able to access this, or wish to have a paper copy sent to you, please send a stamped addressed envelope (£1.00 stamp) to Monica White, 24 Ash Grove, Stapleford, Nottingham, NG9 7GL. This will include details of the year's competitions for Grade 1 & 2 including dates, venues, closing dates, organisers' names & addresses, and one copy of the standard forms. The London Region is required to host the National Grade 2 in February. Each region is required to hold four events for Grade 3 & 4 competitors. Grades 5 & 6 are optional and we have chosen not to hold these. Instead, we will be offering Recreational Elementary and Recreational Novice sections alongside the Grades 3 & 4. See relevant section for details
Closed
There is a change to the way the London Closed will be run for 2007. Please see relevant section for details.
Licences
It is now a requirement for ALL performers, judges and coaches to have an LGF licence although there is no cost for 2007. This is a directive from the London Gymnastics Federation. More details are listed under AFFILIATION.
Results
Results of all London Region competitions, plus other information, are published on the London Trampolining website www.london-trampoline.co.uk
Schools
The School's competition is now under the direction of the BGSA. The Zonal and National rounds (for those qualifying at the December 2006 Schools) will take place in 2007. The recommended date for the Regional Schools competition is 1st or 2nd December 2007. Anyone wanting details for this should contact Clive Hamilton (01895 233377).
