DECEMBER NEWS

Grade 2 National Finals
Hull

Congratulations to the gymnasts that took part, Zoë Preston and Alice MacAulay were in the under 13 age group (it was Alice's 1st finals) and they both competed well, and finished in 14th and 26th place out of a group of 52. Beth Anne Lumb and Cassy Weitz both competed in the under 15 event and both made the finals (top8) they both competed well and finished the competition in 7th and 8th position.

The synchro national finals were the previous day and Alice and Zoë competed together and made the final top 8 and ended up in 6th position. The pairing of Cassy and Nicola Britton finished 5th in the final, and Emma Britton and Nicole Short (Liverpool) finished in the top spot.

London Synchronised Championships
9th December 2007

This annual event took place at Lea Valley High School in Enfield.

The under 15 intermediate group had the most gymnasts in from Kingston Trampoline Academy, and the final round of 8 pair saw 3 pairs from Kingston. Chloe Gowans and Caitlin Tarrant both compete at under 9 and they finished 7th Hannah Gowans (under 11) and Rebekah Lumb (under 9), finished 8th in the final, the pairing of Gemma Pullman, and Amy Parsonson finished in 3rd place. Well done this was a really tough group.

The under 15 advanced group was dominated by gymnasts from Kingston and saw the under 13 paring of Alice MacAulay and Zoe Preston take 2nd place, the champion pair for this group were Nicola Britton and Cassy Weitz.

    

This achievement was also matched in the over 15 group with Andrew and Michael Freeman winning the over 15 advanced group with fellow gymnasts Emma Britton and Kate Bramall finish in 2nd place.

The highest synchronisation score trophy was awarded at the end of the day, and the very worthy recipients were Andrew and Michael Freeman,

A big Thank you to all the volunteers who also represented the academy on the day, without whom the gymnasts would not have been able to compete, if it was not for the officials, Tracey and Elise Gibbins, Ross Harding, Joanne Lumb, Matt Dries, and Charlie Dries.

Regional Schools Competition

Well done to all that represented your schools recently in the regional rounds and going through to the Zonal competition in January are Katherine Pilkington individual and team, Gemma Pullman team, Susannah Lowe team, Elise Gibbins individual and team, Amy Parsonson Team, Sam Preston individual, Lewis Donovan individual, Zoë Preston individual, Cassy Weitz team and individual, Henrietta Bland team, Beth Anne Lumb team and individual, Georgia Heaton team, Rebekah Lumb team, Hannah Gowans team, Chloe Gowans team and individual, Kate Bramall team and individual, Stephanie MacAulay individual, Alex Lumb individual and Ross Harding individual. Alice Macaulay would also have made it through as an individual but will be away representing Great Britain for skiiing!

Child Protection Training

Ross Harding, Kate Bramall, Natalie Sacre, Dave Sweeney, Nick Donovan all attended the British Gymnastics Child Protection Awareness course in December, and Lizzy Walne, Dave Sweeney, Charlie Dries, Rob Baker, Pauline Mackey, Andrew Freeman, and Michael Freeman all attended the next level course "time to listen" which is a must for all club welfare officers, most clubs have 2 or 3 trained we have 9!

Coach qualification

Well done to Kate Bramall passing her Level 1 coach course.

Elmbridge Sports Personality

Congratulations to Gemma Pullman, Nicola Britton, Emma Britton and Katherine Pilkington for 3rd place in the schools category, Kate Bramall for Most Improved in 12 - 18 years group and Andrew & Michael for 2nd in the over 18 category.
The Kingston Awards saw Andrew and Michael, Ross Harding and Cassy Weitz all receive awards, and Sarah Silvester win the coach of the year trophy.
We have been very busy!!!!!
