NOVEMBER NEWS

National Synchronised Trampoline Championships

In the under 13 girls group Zoe Preston and Alice MacAualay were in the largest group of the day, and finished in 8th position after the qualifying round, which took them into the final round (top 8). They improved in their previous round and managed to pull up to 5th place.

The under 15 girls group saw Emma Sweeney paired with Beth Anne Lumb, Nicola Britton with Cassy Weitz and Emma Britton with Nicole Short (City of Liverpool). In the qualifying round a small error with the Emma/Beth routine did not allow them to progress to the final round, Nicola and Cassy qualified in 6th place, and Emma and Nicole in 1st place. After the final round, both pairs held onto their placing, thus Emma Britton and Nicole Short the new under 15 National Champions.

Grade 2 national Finals

4 gymnasts from the academy had qualified for the event; Alice MacAulay and Zoe Preston in the under 15 girls, and Cassy Weitz and Beth Anne Lumb in the under 15 group.

Alice and Zoe were in a group of 52, and Alice finished in 26th place, with a score of 49.5 and Zoe finished in 15th place, with a score of 49.9 only 1 mark separated 7th up to 26th position. In the under 15 group after excellent preliminary results both Cassy and Beth made the top 8 final, Cassy in 6th and Beth in 4th. After a nerve racking final the final results were Cassy 8th and Beth 7th.

It was a great result for the academy and the results showed what hard work the gymnasts and coaches have been working on over the year
