Gala weekend Eastleigh

The 1st gala took place 8th and 9th February in Eastleigh, the grade 2's competed on the Saturday and the grade 1's on the Sunday along with the synchronized competition.

Cassy Weitz finished 4th in the under 15 age group and qualified for the national finals, Zoe Preston also finished 4th and qualified for National finals in the under 13 age group. Alice White competed 2 good commendable routines, and was a fraction short of retaining her grade 2 status.

On the Sunday Michael Freeman competed in the over 19 age group and lead from the start to take 1st place by over 4 whole marks. Ross Harding performed very well and just missed out on retaining at grade 1. Emma Britton took the lead after the 1st 2 rounds in the under 15 group, and after a good set routine Elise Gibbins made a mistake in her voluntary at move 8 and did not complete the routine. Emma was unable to complete a whole routine Kate Bramall in under 19, competed 1st in the group and set a high standard which resulted in 5th place and National finals. Andrew freeman competed 1st in the Men's event and after competing his new routine was in 4th place going into the final. The scores were zeroed and he managed to complete a better routine and finished in 3rd place.

The synchronized event was a great success with Emma Britton and her partner from Liverpool winning in the under 15 group and Andrew and Michael winning the over 15 group.
